Why Village Distribution Costs More.
Villages and some post codes in the larger constituencies have sporadic housing. The distributor sometimes has to walk 50-60 yards to arrive to the next house and then has to walk a further distance to arrive to the letter box. In hilly areas he even has to clime up or down the stairs to be able to post the literature.
If a fit distributor can deliver to 200 doors an hour in a congested areas of the city, he can only deliver to 100 or even 50-60 doors per hour in villages and the areas with thinly distributed houses.
Hence the distribution costs vary according to the housing density.
The client should assess the merits of targeting these areas and compare the value of the return from his distribution campaign with the costs of distribution.
